Makeup for dry skin
Dry skin - has smaller pores, can be dull and lack lustre, can be sore and red, does not hold onto a tan for long.
Makeup for dry skin
1) Skincare
If you have dry/dehydrated skin you need to use products and makeup to suit this skin type.
Make sure you have your skincare specifically targeted for dry/dehydrated skin and exfoliate your skin twice a week with a facial scrub. As usual keep up with drinking your water. Great makeup application starts with great skin so try get your skin hydrated and glowy.
2) Primer
Again choose a primer for your dry/dehydrated skin. Primers I like to use are the coverfx illuminating primer which is about £29 and adds a gorgeous glow to your skin. Or if your looking for a more budget friendly primer you can try the L'oreal Paris LumiMagique Primer sitting at £10.99 from feelunique.
3) Foundation
Foundations best used for dry skin usually say they are ‘glowy’ or ‘illuminating’. Based on the fact they have a higher liquid content than powder and thus less matte. I like to use MACS studio sculpt foundation £27.50 for a very dewy look which is full coverage.
For a budget friendly foundation try the Bodyshops Moisture Foundation which is medium coverage and obviously everything at the bodyshop is cruelty free so thats even better!
4) Concealers
Dry undereyes will make undereye concealing very tricky, add that with the wrong concealer and its your worst nightmare! Youll end up with dry cakey and patchy undereye. Yes you may have concealed your dark circles - but you’ve created another issue. So make sure you use a good undereye moisturiser like Clinique's all about the eyes rich cream and make sure its fully absorbed into the skin. Conceal with MACs prolongwear concealer for £18.50 which is a long lasting matte concealer or Maybellines fit me concealer for an amazing £5.99
5) Lips
Choose any lip product your lips desire
6) Blush
Avoid stains, your dry skin will suck these up like no mans business and make them hard to blend. A lovely blush would be a cream blush to keep you looking fresh and glowy. I like the Kiko Milano Asian Touch blush. If you want your blush to last longer you can add on some powder blush.
7) Highlight
Again, same as the blush, you can get away with a liquid or cream highlighter. I love either Benefits high beam highlighter £22 or their Watts Up highlighter £25.50. For the purse friendly highlighter you can try Makeup Revolutions Liquid highlighter for £6. Again add some powder on top to make it last and give it extra vava voom such as my favourite drugstore powder highlighter Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Highlighter.
8) Powders
You’ll require a touch of powder to set or finish (these are different). As you've got dry skin dont over do it with the powder as thats going to make everything matte again. You may just get away with lightly powdering your Tzone. A great cult favourite by makeup artists and makeup enthusiastics alike is Laura Merciers translucent setting powder £29. A great powder to set the undereye area is ELFS undereye setting powder.
